My future job

I think I have a little portfolio of jobs that I have done in my life. When I was a kid I worked with my mom at the fair, we used to sell succulent plants like Aloe Vera, Agave or jade plant. Nowadays, I work as an accountant on weekends to get some money for my day life. But let’s talk about the job that I like to have in the future. Well it’s fair to say that if I’m studying anthropology right now I would like to work as an anthropologist. But I like other things and I’d like to try different jobs or things to do, maybe combine them with the knowledge that I learned in the career, but I don’t like the idea to be stuck with one thing. I’d like to travel a lot, be outside and learn the things that people can teach me. But If I have to choose a specific topic to study and work, that will be something related to the mapuche people like my mother or my grandmother. I’m going to gather memories and aspects of the social life that have been forgotten in the community of my fam

Should all of us be vegetarian?

Today’s topic is to debate the following sentence: Everyone should be vegetarian. I’m not agree with that, I think that we need a variety of ways to eat in our society, depending on the context. In our days, we have a system and a culture that establish a variety of ways to eat, but all of them exist without a context. In the past, people ate the things that were offered in their niches, but now, despite of the things that are at hand, almost everyone eats the same because science told us what is the best for us. Yes, it’s important to recognize the right of the animals. We need to stop the megaindustry of meat, milk and others animal products. But we also need to considerate that people in the south, in the coast, people without money, etc. All of them don’t have the resources for live and eat without animal feed. And, at least for I’ve seen, their relationship with the animals is so much different than ours in the city. In the end, the things that I learned with m

Euthanasia, a tricky topic

The process of euthanasia is a difficult topic to discuss here in Chile. That´s because of the strong influence of religion and the conservative politics in the parliamentarians when they legislate this problem. To understand this debate we need to know the different types of euthanasia and it´s differences with assisted suicide and in that base, I will give my opinion. First, there are two types of euthanasia: passive euthanasia and active euthanasia. In that order, the first is when the medic ends up the treatment to extend the life of the patient.  However, the drugs that can suppress the pain of the disease are still using. This form of euthanasia is validated by the Chilean law since 2012, and in others countries too. I think that this form is good, but the efficacy of the process is restrict by the disease and put the will of the individual in seconds place, I mean, if a person wants to end his or her own life, why not they just help him or her to do it quickly. My best holiday ever

Imagen
In this activity I want to talk about the best holiday that I remember. It happened in 2013 when I went to my grandmother's house in summer. I go there frequently, I would say every year. But in that year a lot of things occurred and I had so much fun that I still remember some of them very clearly. The first thing that happened was that I met a friend there. The house of my grandma is very far for the city so I usually stay there alone, so, meeting someone for my age was something very exciting because I could do things that I did alone. For example: going to the river, using a trycicle to do stupid but awesome stuff, and other things. I felt like a child in that time. Another thing that I did during that time was that I visited the Volcan Llaima near to Cherquenco and Vilcun, townships of the IX region. It was awesome that, in summer, it was still capped with snow, and I found stalactites in a small cave. Well, that was my holiday at least that I remember. Thank

A country I would like to visit

Imagen
If I had to choose a country to visit right now, it would be Slovenia in Europe. In fact, I don´t know much about this country, but the few places that I looked on the internet impressed me. One of they places that I'd love to visit is the Sockjan caves in the southwest side of the country. Here is a picture of this beautiful place: I had never visit such a enormuous cave in my life, so, It's a dream that I hope to reach on the future. Another place to visit would be the Predjama Castle in the same side of the country. The reason of my interest is that I have never visited a castle in my life so, I will take the chance to visit such amazing build in a misterious place. You would ask why I´m saying this, and maybe this picture will give a little clue to you: Well, these are the places that I hope to visit in the future. Thanks for your atention.
